Your Personal Data

We hold high respect for data privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property. Light-Year Enterprises, its Staff, and its Associates are strictly prohibited from transferring or selling your personal data outside the company without your consent. As we operate on Google Sites, their cookie policy applies.

Solicitation

We want to give you, our Customer, the best experience possible. However, we have been receiving a high volume of unsolicited offers that have little to do with what we offer our clients. Therefore, we must humbly ask that, if you believe there is mutual benefit to it, that you send any unsolicited business offers from your work/professional email addresses. This will minimize the possibility of our staff mistaking your efforts for spam, and will allow us to focus on our work.

Preferred Language & Contacts

The primary language of business at Light-Year is English. If you are uncomfortable speaking the language, please let us know. Although we will endeavor to communicate using your preferred language, please be aware that we cannot guarantee that we can converse with you satisfactorily if none of our Staff or Associates speak your preferred language. Translators can sometimes be fickle, but we will endeavor to keep the lines of communication as open as possible.

As we work internationally, reaching us using cell phone numbers may be difficult due to your carrier, or the time zone you are in. If you would like to communicate over voice, there are a range of VoIP (voice over internet protocol) options available to use. As with your preferred language, we will endeavor to communicate on your platform of choice. As a note, however, the ones we most often use include Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp, and the like. We may communicate by email, or related platforms you may be most comfortable with that we are able to readily use.

New Requests

Quotes are offered on request, on a case by case basis. Please note that quotes are not a contract, nor are they a request for a work order. As such, quotes on requested services come free of charge, and we are always happy to provide them if needed before an offer is made. If needed, a brief contract and invoice may be drafted before work begins. The process for price quote requests is the same for consulting work and for small business projects (writing white papers, etc.). Since each project is different, and each business is also different, this is likely to impact the final sticker price for services offered. (With the exception of hard, high-profile projects, they are rarely higher than the posted price point.)

Because we want to deliver the highest quality work to our clients, Light-Year Enterprises reserves the right to decline a contract or other request for services if we find we are unable to deliver superior work in support of your rights and expectations as our Customer. Usually, this may be attributed to a lack of ability (be it in staff, time, or resources) to meet or exceed your expectations as outlined in a new request. If a new request is in our ability to perform but we currently have a full work load, we will notify you in advance. If this is the case, we will likely request a delay in work to begin to allow staff a reasonable amount of time to complete their existing projects. If long wait times are expected, we will offer a discount as compensation for the inconvenience.

Whatever the case may be, we will never decline a work order without providing a reason for a cancellation of the order, or for a request to schedule work for the soonest available time slot(s).

Cancellation of Contracts

In rare cases, Light-Year may be forced to terminate a contract for a project, or otherwise perform within strict limitations of the original scope of a request. Rarely, this is because initial communications regarding the scale or scope of the project were unclear. At times, the scale and scope of the request may change after work begins and our staff are unable to meet the increased effort required to complete the project on time with the same high quality we pledge to deliver. If this is the case, the work will be performed according to the original contract and delivered as agreed. That said, we will do our utmost to prevent any miscommunications to deliver work on time and above expectations.

On rare occasions, events within the Company will compel us to inform you that our services may be delayed. In extreme cases, our work may face cancellation. In either case, such measures to inform the Customer and correct the situation will be taken immediately, and as far in advance as possible. If the contract remains in force, discounts will be provided commensurate with planned delays, with a maximum of 50% off the lowest advertised price offered. If the contract is cancelled and the fault is determined to lie with the Company, its Staff, or Associates, a full refund of any advance fees will immediately be returned to the Customer.

If the project is cancelled by the Customer before work is complete or delivered (whichever comes sooner), an amount not exceeding 25% of the quoted price will be charged. If partial work has already been delivered, the charge will be 50%. If this has already been collected in advance fees or installation payments, no further invoices will be sent and no action need be taken. The contract may not be cancelled when the majority of the work is already prepared and/or in delivery. However, the final price may be reduced if circumstances outside of your control compel the Customer to cancel the contract.

As with declining Requests, the Company will never fail to provide a strong reason in the very rare event that it is compelled to terminate a contract before it is complete, and it will to its utmost to correct any

Standardized Fees

If you would like to place an order with us and the quoted price of a project exceeds USD 200.00 (or its equivalent), new clients should expect a 25% charge placed to their accounts in advance of the order, with the rest coming due immediately upon completion of work. Returning clients, or those referred to us by existing clients, do not have to pay the advance fee until the work is delivered, upon which the full invoice immediately becomes due. Additionally, they pay a lower price for any future services if they become regular customers.

Please note that these are not necessarily the charges that will be quoted if you request a new project. If your project is much less labor-intensive than others, then you will be charged significantly less. Communication is key, and we will endeavor to work with you to deliver the best possible value. (An example would be an already well-written research paper or contract that takes only a few short minutes per page to run through and cross-check for errors or suggestions for improvement.)

We will be transparent and work closely with you to ensure that you receive only the best of our work each time you come to us for business.
